In early 70’s I started photography as a hobby with a group of friends. Then on all India level, I started taking part in different competitions and exhibitions. By getting success and recognition, I became seriously involved in photography. After that I started a photography club by uniting a group of like-minded people and started self sponsoring different types of exhibitions and competitions.


By the year 2003, it was found that many people from Orissa were forced to go to neighbouring cities like Kolkata, Vizag, Raipur and even Delhi, Bombay – to get their photos printed, and also for getting themselves photographed at a good studio – all because there was not a single studio or photolab in Orissa which could give even standard quality photos.
